ToP Facilitation Creative Edges, Success Stories, and Best PracticesThis is a featured page

Here's the place to share creative edges and your stories with others to inspire them. Add one to the threads at the bottom of the page. Make sure you include a way to contact you if others want to collaborate further with you.

The ToP Facilitators in Canada met January 14, 2011 in Toronto. I've attached the agenda and the documentation below. There is also some great news from the ToP Network in Australia and New Zealand.

We'd like to share your ideas with the face-to-face group, and share ours at the end of the day back to you. The key questions we are asking are
What have we learned in applying our training in ToP methods?
What are tough situations we've encountered, and what help can we provide each other on these as peers?
What are the leading ideas we have gathered - (new applications, creative edges)?
How can we get opportunities to practice?
How can we put together a "community of practice?"

Please post your thoughts -- individually, or reports from ToP gatherings -- as comments in the discussions below. Start a new thread, or add to one that exists.

The exciting news we have to report as a faculty from our ToP Faculty meeting this year, is our accreditation under the Australian Quality Framework of our 8 module FLP program as the Vocational Graduate Diploma of Facilitative Leadership.

As part of this development, we will shortly receive formal confirmation approving our newly established Global Institute for Facilitative Leadership (GIFL) as a registered training organisation under the AQF.

This year, as part of our 'go to market,' we'll also be seeking articulation of this program into tertiary post graduate degrees for example Management masters degrees. In addition, by March, we should have approval to offer this as an accredited program internationally.

What makes this program unique is that it's the only registered program of this kind that provides both theoretical and practical perspectives and skills. The final module of this course brings these perspectives together through an action research project back at the candidate's workplace, incorporating a formal assessment.

There is also potential in the medium term for the program to be developed as a full Masters degree program. As such, Universities, corporations etc should find this an attractive proposition. It is the only such offering in the Australia - NZ market place.

ToP GIFL now replaces what was formally known as our ToP Australasia faculty.

Kind regards,

Michelle Rush
On behalf of the new GIFL leadership.
